Fun-time, up-beat, punk demons : what else can be said about the Groovie Ghoulies? The masses may be ready for zombie-rock, but I am not so sure about creature-techno, vampire-jazz, or wolfman-country. And for some reason, with all of the horror-thematic bands around these days, the Groovie Ghoulies cannot seem to break the scum on top of the pond. Much better than most of the monster bands out right now, you would expect that these veterans would have had the attention of the public by now. I find it unfortunate that a talented goup of youngsters can't get the attention they deserve these days. However, I would not be surprised if the band breaks in the next year, to something far better than Rob, Marilyn, or Powerman could ever dream of. Punk rock deserves its place in the musical food chain (somewhere near the top, of course) and nowhere near any of its shriveled off-spring, emo. Just released on Lookout - Travels with my Amp.
